Prayers going out

I can't even begin to imagine the horror that the people of Alabama are going through. I can tell you that the tornadoes we had in NC a few weeks ago were bad enough. My heart goes out to all of the families of the victims and the survivors. I can't imagine losing everything I had or my family. Thank GOD that I haven't had to go through anything similar so far in my lifetime.

Easter

We spent most of this past weekend w/ both families. We spent Saturday afternoon w/ my brother and family and then Sunday w/ John's family. We don't have pics from Saturday because there were sooooooooooooo many little ones running around. But I did discover that my DD is an adventurist and has no fear whatsoever. She would leap out of my brother's back door. There is a four inch drop from his dining room to his back porch. She took off running and jumped about 6" from the door to halfway across the porch. Scared the living day lights out of everyone, but she was fine. She had no idea why anyone would be scared.

Sunday we spent the day w/ my MIL. This was the first holiday we celebrated w/ her entire family after Grandma Lester died in December. It was very surreal. Those are the moments that it really hits me. I loved Grandma like she was mine. I love all of John's family like they were mine. It was a ton of fun. Here are a few pics from the day.

She wasn't feeling the best. Now I have whatever she had.....

Cecelia and the Twins....

Her legs look a mile long.....

Here are a few recent pics

Check out the adorable Ruffle Butts on this booty....

Playing w/ Daddy... She is a HUGE daredevil

Miss Thang wouldn't eat her cheese biscuit w/o ranch dressing. She then wouldn't eat anything but the ranch. I looked away for 60 seconds and this is what I came back to.

She is also a "drama" queen w/ a killer pose.

Loves some shoes, even her Daddy's...

As you can tell, miss C is a character. She keeps us entertained. And I can assure you, there is never a dull moment in this house since she arrived.

So Thankful!!

I'm sure most of you have seen the footage of the horrible tornadoes Saturday. Thank God, we fared pretty well in it considering the horror and violence of it all. John and I got in the closet Saturday afternoon after the hail started. It was by far the scariest thing I have ever been through. And I was actually stuck in a parking lot during a tornado when I was 17. But at 17, you feel completely invincible, so we weren't that scared. Every time I turn the news on I start crying. I can't imagine myself living through the terror of losing my child. But we still have to thank God that there wasn't any more destruction and death than there was. Easier said than done though.

Wordless Wednesday - Speaks for itself - LOL!!

She obviously wasn't supposed to be going up the steps at Grandma & Papa's, but they let her get away with a lot more than Mommy & Daddy. Thanks Grandma for the pic.

Don't be the Dead Wife - borrowed post

I just read this post on another blog. It almost made me cry because I am that person. I am the first person to delete myself out of pics. I am very critical of myself. My DH says way too critical. He always tells me that I am beautiful, but I have a hard time believing him. Here's the link.

http://literallyinspired.blogspot.com/2011/03/safe-haven-dont-be-dead-wife.

You guys should really check the blog out. It gave me a lot to think about.

I am going to try to make the same promise. It isn't fair to my daughter and I don't want to make her self-conscious as she gets older. It is going to be hard, but I will try.

OK - A Little Late

I never did get pictures uploaded last weekend so I have been avoiding this post. I (cross my fingers) promise I will get them done this weekend. But, DH and I took DD for her 18mo well baby visit last week. She is hitting all of her developmental milestones either early or on time. She is 32" long which is in the 55%, her head circumference was in the 50% and her weight was 19lbs 9oz. which is back down below the 3rd %. Oh well. We tried. She is gaining weight though. She is just at the very bottom of her growth chart. I'm not really worried, but I was still hoping for 20lbs. But I will take a very healthy baby so there you go. And I promise updated pics for the weekend.
